FDM printing is anisotropic. We say so

Parts are stronger in the print plane (XY) than across layers (Z). We orient each part to the load and discuss it with you when it matters.

Frequently asked questions about materials

  • What's the strongest material you print?

PA6-CF for mechanical strength (110 MPa tensile) and PPA-CF for stiffness (9.9 GPa modulus). For high temperatures, PPS-CF reaches 264 °C HDT.

  • What's the difference between carbon-fibre and glass-fibre?

Carbon-fibre (CF) gives more stiffness per weight and a matte technical look; glass-fibre (GF) is cheaper and offers good dimensional stability.

  • Are printed parts equal in every direction?

No: FDM printing is anisotropic, stronger in-plane (XY) than across layers (Z). We orient each part to the expected load.

  • Which colors do you print?

It depends on the material: some come in several colors, others only in technical shades. Message us for availability of the material you need.

  • What are the lead times?

They're shown in the instant quote based on material, size and quantity: typically 24–72h for prototypes.
